Somehow the magic-makers at Compass Box have married seemingly dissonant elements in Scotch, peat and smoke with malt and fruit, for an aromatic and graceful style of smokiness.

Tasting Notes

A spectrum of powerful coastal flavors, combining the smokiness of a driftwood fire with more medicinal peat notes. Orchard fruits and rich cask-derived creaminess balance the multi-layered smoke.

Production Notes

This peated blended malt whisky is made with two single malts from Islay. The recipe breakdown is 64% Caol Ila and 35% Laphroaig, both matured in refill hogsheads. Additionally, 1% of the blended malt whisky includes a blend of single malts from the Highlands which matured in custom French oak barrels with a heavy toast. The malts were married together for several months before bottling without added color or chill-filtration at 46% ABV.
